Hi ya,

You say that you turn the ignition on Do you actually do a bulb check in the number '2' position and is it lit then ? If no then you will have to replace it. Of course if it does works then the ECU doesn't think you need a service yet.

Just for your info the service light will illuminate for two minutes if the following criteria is met.
1 calendar year approx.
I think it's 10000 hours based on engine revolutions but i maybe wrong on the hours, based on 2 hours a day roughly.
10k to 12k miles.
