I am also not condoning the fix, as it, at best, should have been temporary, however you would be gobsmacked at what a properly specified ty-wrap/cable tie can support, far, far in excess of any strain or pressure the power steering hose in question can generate, but it is horses for courses.

So I think if VOSA have been contacted, let it run its course and refrain from commenting on what we think we know, rather than assumption or misconception, and wait for the facts.
