I am a bit late on this subject, but have just read a thread in the general threads on
www.vvspy.com clearly contributed to by a knowledgable Volvo 'insider'.
He does state that only those ETM's supplied to Volvo by Magnetti Marelli may give problems and not those made by Bosch.
I also gather from his contribution that the current Volvo Cars UK offer is to replace free any defective MM made module with a new replacement having a 10 year or 100,000 mile warranty.
If that is indeed the case, then in my view that is a particularly fair offer.
