Default Engine sounds like V8 under load

Hi guys,
just wanted to share something that happened over the last few days to me because I'm guessing I'm not the only one to have this problem.

I have a 2005 V70 (2.4T AWD) and I just had the ETM changed at the dealership (although I am not convinced it needed doing - but these things happen right).

Everything was fine, car drove normally.
Then the other day I was on the motorway and floored it - at which point it sounded like I'd disconnected the exhaust or added a V8 under the bonnet.

On tick over the engine was smooth and at low revs no problem. When sitting on the drive I could rev the engine and still not a problem.

So I got under the bonnet and started trying to find a leak.
Where the air intake pipe for the ETM (big pipe, underneath) meets the etm there's a jubilee clip - the dealership hadn't tightend it up enough and so under load the pressure had made it loose and finally blown it off.
at tick over it's not a problem nor off load revving because it's not creating sufficient back pressure.

So, if your car suddenly starts sounding really throaty and you don't have as much power as you should be sure to check that your air intake pipe is securly fastened before you start playing in the back of the engine.

Hope this helps someone,
Paul.
