DB, have you an AWD version? If yes, then I'd suggest pumping up at the back in order to keep the pressures the same all round. Because of the AWD the car is notably heavier at the back, hence the need for higher pressure, but also the tread depth needs to be within 2mm (Volvo advice) all round. Different pressures would exagerate any differnce.

If yours is a 2WD, then no probs.

Also, have you noticed that most forecourt pumps are not calibrated. I've tried a couple on the same day (yes bored that day) and all gave different readings by quite a few PSI. Best get your own guage, at least then you'll have a consistent reading.
