Thing is, though, if the used tyre is on a second-hand car, and the car appears to have been well looked after, then the tyre is probably fine. But if it's not on a car, why not? Was it replaced on the car, and if so, why? Now, it may well have been taken off for a perfectly good reason, in which case no problem - but can you be sure? So then I guess it depends how much you trust the supplier...
