I'm hopeful someone will know where this sensor is,

I also have a 2008 D5 SE LUX and have the same problem, and given how often the screen wash needs topping up, i'm in the engine bay every few weeks. Once the car has decided the bonnet is closed, i don't get the issue untill the next time i open the bonnet, then it usually needs a rough bit of road, or a speedbump efore the car will recognise that the bonnet is closed.

I've had a good look and can't see the sensor, and assumed it was part of the bonnet catches, which don't look accessable.
