Could be the two small "cog wheels" on the hinge. If they are not greased they will not turn and wear out, allowing the door to swing freely.
Are you likely to get to the Nottingham Trent Valley section meeting, 1st Wednesday in the month at The Olde Bridge Inn Oxton from about 7.30? If so we could discuss this problem then, same thing happened on my '93 240.
