XC60 Retro fit of Stereo

I have just purchased a Volvo XC60, I looked at a purpose built spec which came in at around £29000. However I took up the opportunity to purchase a model that was in and had a partial spec that I needed, which came in, after discounts at just under £24,000. So I accepted the model - well actually I pretty much snapped the hand off the salesman - I am more than happy with it apart from one thing I would have preferred the mid range Stereo i.e. the High Performance version.
It has the basic model stereo in it, can the High Performance version be retro fitted by a Volvo dealership?

Any help would be appreciated.

POSSIBLY - But don't be expecting much change from the £5k you have saved....

I'm also interested in change the stereo by a better one, at least one able to read MP3s.

I think Volvo dealers can install this mp3/USB connection at around the £400 mark.

Is that compatible with the basic stereo?
I think that connection is only for the high performance equipment which is able to read MP3 CDs.
Anyway, £400 is a really high price for a "usb cable", right?

I have no idea if it's compatible with the basic stereo. If you have a button called "mode" above the CD slot then I guess it is.

£400 maybe steep, but to be honest I have no idea how much the cost would be.

I don't have it yet, will be delivered within a week.
Mode button change between CD, Radio, AUX port, but basic stereo doesn't have USB port. At least that is what I think.
I'll check next week and ask to dealer...
Thanks!

Surely if it has an aux port you can connect your MP3/ipod by using a 3.5mm jack ?

We had the dealer fit the USB/iPod option to our MY2009 car delivered a few weeks ago (again a stock car of almost the right spec but a total deal (including volvo rebates) worth about 25% off of the MY2010 RRP). Cost was £315 fitted (at time of delivery). Car otherwise has just the basic stereo.

Mode button switches between Aux, USB, and iPod. Came with a 1GB Volvo USB stick and has both ipod and USB connectors in the storage compartment between the front seats.

Displays artist and track on information display and enter button (i'll admit it has taken me until now to finally discover this!!) allows access to all the ipods playlists, artists, tracks, albums, audiobooks, etc, etc.

I'd imagine similar functionality with mp3s on the usb stick but haven't tried that yet.

Steering wheel buttons allow skip forward / backward of tracks (and volume)

Simon
