Petrol tank
Hi a very simple question....I hope!!
1970 144 B20 automatic 4 door saloon Next place where can I get a replacement petrol tank...... That's it!! Thanks Kevin |
Hi Kevin,
Might be one here, but seems some model clarification might need checking with them https://www.skandix.de/en/spare-part...-tank/1016926/ Good luck on your quest. Cheers Steve |
Great thanks
I'd missed that one ......and whilst I'd rather not spend €180ish it's still cheaper than I thought.....I think!! So same place for brake caliper refurb bits?? |
I got my rebuild kits for my 940 from
https://www.biggred.co.uk Suggested by Luke, aka 360beast and lots of options from individual parts to full kits comprising pistons, seals, dust boots and also bolts etc etc. Cheers Steve |

Kevin better start looking for a tank from a salvage 140 or plan for a restoration of the existing tank. |
That's interesting as when I looked myself I could only find what was post 1973 tank and I'm sure it was Scandix and dearer.....
So this is the same item? Thanks |

There’s companies out there that will repair your tank. I’m not sold on lining a tank but a new tank bottom could be welded if needed. |
I'll look thanks
I haven't used the car for a while and last time I started it I had to by pass the tank and lines and feed direct into the carb...then as usual I left it alone However with the expansion of the London ulez pending next year my current classic ride isn't old enough to be exempt.... And I'm not paying everytime I use it!! And as I live close to the edge of the zone of I exit the zone.....which has cost me......I have to pay again to re-enter!! My 144 is exempt...... Though I also feel the need to injury a webasto style sunroof!! Oh it's auto..... And I do have a fetish for column change.... ;-) |
