Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire Section Meet.
I currently reside in Cambridgeshire and the closest Section Meeting for myself, takes place in Suffolk, a round trip of approx four hours. (Dependent on traffic.)There would appear not to be a Section within Cambridgeshire/ Northamptonshire thus I am enquiring generally if I decided to look at progressing the setting up of such a group would there be any interest from VOC members?
I have spoken to a member of the VOC committee who offers their support and participation. I have some thoughts already with regards to venue, location and how often etc. but prior to 'revealing all' could all interested parties please reply to this thread to give me some idea of possible numbers/interest? Thank you. |
Might be interested, Huntingdon area.

Thank you for your reply, sadly I have only had two responses but still early days. It would more than likely suit yourself as I was looking at Grafham Water as the venue and set the group up similar to that of Essex, but meet ups every two/three months (Depending on level of interest) opportunity to partake in refreshments, plus other family members could attend, especially during Summer months if they like cycling etc. I believed a Sunday morning around 10.30 would appear to be the best but obviously open to amendment as necessary. If no further interest is shown then obviously I may have to knock it on the head, but fingers crossed.

It has been a long time since there was a local section round here. Regards Roger |
Thank you rogerb for your reply, there is now a steady trickle of interest thus hopefully, providing the weather is not too unkind we should have a good day.

Sorry for the delay in updating this post, been away. Update re: September Meet.
There was a cross section of Volvo's from across the range from the 240's to the XC60, fortunately Rob with his C30, D3 and myself represented the C30 group. The weather was fine and sunny however, the breeze was a little sharp, must remember to take a coat next time! I've attached some photos to highlight the day. The raffle went well and I am still munching my way through the tin of 'Celebration' chocolates. Our next meet is scheduled for the 16th November, where it is expected that we will partake in refreshments/meal. http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/attach...1&d=1413304916 |
