Keyless Entry

Anyone have this? I'm finding it very intermittent. Rarely does it work for me first time. Sometimes I have better luck opening from a different door and on a couple of occasions I have resorted to using the actual key to either lock or unlock the car.

The Keyless ignition doesn't work everytime either though this isn't nearly as often as the entry and usually works at the second try.

Had my V70 for 2 1/2 years and the keyless has worked flawlessly. Have you tried changing the batteries in the fob?

Mine works perfectly as well, but that's not the point I suppose! Now I shouldn't have said that because as sure as eggs are eggs it will stop working!

One or two people have had problems with the keyless/PCC not working as it should. Turned out to be a handle I recall, along with something faulty in the wiring loom. Think the thread is in the XC60 part of the forum.

thanks for the replies - the car is under 1 year old so doubt the battery is an issue. As it is under warranty I am not overly worried - just wondered how others find it. When it goes in for a service I will get it looked at (if not before).

after an unsuccessful (surprise surprise) software upgrade they are fitting a new receiver on Tuesday - hope that cures it.

One thing to be mindful of is which pocket your key is in - if it's close to your phone then the phone can block the signal. I've taken to putting them in opposite sides to avoid this.

The car has 6 receivers. Which one are they changing?

The keyless drive system has a number of antennas located at various points in the vehicle.

1. On the inside center of the rear bumper

2. Left rear door handle

3. Under the floor of the trunk, near the rear seat

4. Right rear door handle

5. Under the rear section of the center console

6. Under the front section of the center console.

I am amazed you are reluctant to change the £2 battery? Worth a try?

I have no idea which receiver was changed but so far it seems to have done the trick (maybe they changed them all but doubt it).
