USB- C connections
Hi, have just picked up 2022 XC60 inscription B4 AWD.
When i test drove one in August the salesman advised that phones could play music through USB. My car has now got USB-C connections all round. when phone is connected no option to play music. Also the apple car play has disappeared to the one i test drove. Anyone any ideas please? Dealer is denying that they would ever play and are only for charging. |
Car play is a paid for option iirc dealer can activate with a software key
Do you have a white edged USB port? https://www.volvocars.com/en-th/supp...le-r-carplay-r |
Not sure if the above link applies in the UK, doesnt state UK in URL and is for MY2021?
The below was posted in another thread by another member, but according to this link Apple Car Play is due early 2022. Perhaps you'll get it via 'over the air' software update? https://www.volvocars.com/uk/support...odel-year-2022 |
USB ports for charging only on MY22.
Wireless CarPlay coming spring 2022. Dealer has advised you wrong. |

Thats interesting, what month in 2021 was your vehicle registered? Mine was July and has the white outline around one port. This originally indicated where a phone should be plugged in for the system to read, for use such as CarPlay. However given Apple CarPlay will be wirelessly accessed once the update has been provided over the air, the white outline loses its meaning (although likely still for data such as audio files on usb sticks etc). Volvo informed me only a few days ago Apple Airplay was coming in spring 2022. |
