R Overfueling and High Fuel Pressure
Hey guys,
I’ve just bought a V70R P2 ‘06 auto privately When I bought it the car was running beautifully and was extremely fast Within 100 miles the orange and green warning light came on and it started misfiring and hesitating occasionally - fault code read High Fuel Pressure Extinguished code and gave it a full service Removed K and N filter, plugs, fuel filter etc and returned everything to stock Car ran like a dream albeit slightly slower for a full tank of Super Unleaded then started misfiring again and irregular (not smooth) gear changes Back to the garage - no warning like but threw up High Fuel Pressure code again Replaced fuel pressure sensor and Air Mass meter - cancelled codes - car ran like a dream again for a full tank of unleaded Same issues return - misfiring and hesitating Also, after every garage visit and code reset the car runs far more smoothly and economically regards MPG but as the miles creep up the MPG gets lower and lower Occasionally there sounds like there’s a lot going on under the bonnet, motors running and whining etc, even after short steady drives on A roads Has this been poorly remapped or something? |
It could be a mapping issue. I will check the live data of both lambda sensors and MAF as starting points. The minister temp and pressure sensors.
To me it sounds like a sooted lambda sensor under reading and the ECU is slowly adapting |
If you have changed all the air sensors maf etc this does sound like a mapping issue.
Mine ran like that on an incorrect map. Probably need to find out what the map was? if it was just a stage one, it might be an idea to pop along to the dealer and get a complete reset on the ECU back to the factory settings and probably some updates if needed, then go from there. Once you have a ECU back to factory settings and the problem still exists, it should be easier to pinpoint the issue then. |
