Possible sale of 2.4i C30

Hi everyone,
l have been contacted requesting advice on selling a 2007 Volvo C30 2.4i.
I am therefore forwarding on the details l have (at the moment).

It is a genuine 21,600 miles, geartronic car, Reg no WP 56 SKZ, MOT till July 2024 and is owned by an 89 year old lady who is giving up driving.
Please check possible on line info for confirmation.

l am not interested in making anything from this just helping someone out.
I know that there will be a demand for pictures but at this moment in time that is not possible.
This is a toe in the water excercise for anyone who has interest and l will attempt to forward pictures when l have access to the car.
I have been asked for a valuation and explained that it is difficult to assess a price but considering it's history it may be well be a good buy for someone.

Your thoughts please and interest at the first instance would be very welcome.

Thanks all.

Andy

So hard to put a value on. Traders and WBAC will slaughter it as an old Volvo regardless of miles. Any idea what it's worth, I've tried to find comparable cars but can't for obvious reasons? Low miles of @60k are on AT for around 5k and more! Big engine and autobox are perhaps negatives for most also, sounds ideal to me!!

Hard one to call - there's a real range of prices being asked for C30s at present.

It's an earlier model with a big engine; that said it's the Volvo 5 cylinder not the Ford engines. I don't think being a geartronic will particularly tell against it. Low mileage can work either way - clearly the car hasn't been used much!

What's the service history like? I think that will be the real deciding factor. If it's complete and the car is in the sort of condition you'd expect for that low use, then I'd say put it up for at least £5,000, perhaps more.

If the service history is patchy, or the condition suggests it's not been cared for, then the value drops accordingly.

Cars like this tend to fall into that bracket of being worth what someone will pay, unfortunately. If it happens to be just what someone is looking for, they'll probably bite your friend's hand off even at quite a high price.

Whatever, don't look at traders or the likes of WBAC - as has been said, they'll just see an old Volvo and deem it worth peanuts.

If you can get some more information, and some pictures, I'm sure we can all help a bit further!

Don't know whether you are still trying to sell this car, but this may give you hope...

I've been looking for an early S40 - my criteria were excellent condition, **whiteblock** engine and low mileage. Yes, I wanted only that engine in either 2.4 or T5 guise. I just paid a premium for exactly this spec, so £4-5k seems about right. Stick it on https://www.carandclassic.com for £5k and you should get more genuine interest than on ebay/facebook/autotrader.

Good luck!
