Hi all,

İ've seen the post about the timing belt protector for the D5 engines from the person that makes it in finland, their profile name is Timing belt protector.
Sadly i cannot message him until i make 30 posts, does anyone have their contact information?

Thank you in advance

I can't find any user by that name. Can you post a link to the thread/post you're referring to.

This was a few years ago, last active 30th march. Tho if I remember correct a few people did purchase them but didn’t hear anymore about it. As to how substantial it was I’ve no idea. If it was just tin then it probably offers little in forms of protection.

I have found the original post and eBay listing. You ask admin to boost your post count so you can reply.

There was never any evidence that they would do the job and you cant really test them....
They were quite expensive and you would be much better off buying the volvo parts and changing the belts at the correct Intervals...

Yes working out about £150 to get one. I mean I can see the principle but if say a belt failed and strikes it which then pushes the guard itself into the timing belt then it hasn’t really sorted the problem. It is only fitted at one end which seems to offer no support meaning it could be easily bent inwards but I’ve not actually seen one.
