Volvo 940 lsd help

I have a 940 I want a lsd are the g80 lockers any good for road and some drifting or is a plate lsd the best option
What are the plate lsd options

You would need to find a G80 first! Then they only lock up to something like 20mph, then go in to open diff. You can modify them to lock up at all speeds.

You can get a backline LSD from classicswede for about £500

I wonder how good are the blackline diffs

I've not used one mysefp but it is the diff I'll probably go for when I fit one to my 940.

Also people say that the modified G80 is horrible so it would be better to go for a LSD from the off.

I know there's a gripper diff for around 1000pound is there any other plate type lsd for them

There's a wavetrac diff, and the Tenaci torsen diff. I'm not totally familiar with the pluses and negatives of these alternative designs. I believe the Gripper is the only "traditional" plated differential available.

I stock Blackline, Quaife and Gripper

Blackline and Quaife are torsen type diffs. They are good when you have grip with both wheels but if you loose all grip with one wheel the diff reverts back to open.

The Gripper is a plate diff so always gives drive to both wheels in all conditions
