I've read conflicting info on here - can someone confirm?

Hi all

I know this has been covered a lot on here but I have read conflicting opinions. The fuel gauge in my 940 hasn't worked since I've had the car and I thought it was time to investigate the cause. I just unplugged the sender/pump wiring in the boot and the fuel gauge went all the way to full. Now does that mean the sender is on the fritz or the gauge itself is faulty?

Many thanks
Vin

if your car is after 93 then it is probably the sender that is faulty, the FAQ has some good details Here under the "Fuel Gauge Fluctuates or Fails to Work." section

Something to remember Vin is that Volvo changed a lot of things during the production run and sometimes between models too.

If you post asking for advice, give as much information as you can - model, year, engine code, type of gearbox, whether you have any modifications etc.

I know it sounds like a lot of information but as you've already discovered, you get conflicting answers simply on a year change.
