If I hadn't already got more than one 164 I would be seriously interested in this car. I first knew of this car when in storage then being bought by the previous owner, and thought it an honest car at a very good price as compared with others which have been advertised these last few years.
I have examined a few others lately and this looks fine as an everyday, not one of the vastly overpriced auto's one normally sees. If the resto is reasonable and it is has a working manual-gearbox car then go for it! Just be prepared for non-spectacular performance and a slight thirst, but so comfortable! P |
Should go like a rocket what with twin SUs. Never considered one of these, I am a sucker for the looks when I see something different.

Yes I should have gone to Specsavers.

£1750 provisional. Never got to Kings Lynn so no real idea of condition or what is making it a non runner.

I'd suggest if you buy it, take a pair of diaphragms for the carbs, some ATF to top up the dashpots, feeler guages to check/adjust the points gap, check the plug gaps and some fresh fuel. Looking at the underside photos on the listing, the fuel tank may well have rusted internally blocking the fuel outlet on the tank or further along the fuel system. |
Was not me who got it provisionally. I know what you mean about the carbs with the split diaphrams on the Strombergs. Would like to have set eyes on her but such is life.

Actually did sell for £1860

A friend of mine bought it to restore. I'll try to persuade him to do a restoration thread on here.
