2010 XC90 D5 185 Executive

Hi all,

Hereby I will put my XC90 D5 185 Executive tentative for sale, it appears I spend most of my time in Europe and spending hardly any time in the UK. As such I am considering finally buying a LHD XC90 so here goes:

- First date of registration 15-05-2010
- D5 185 Executive
- Currently 162000 miles and hardly going up (I have a Toyota Prius for short distances as well as an Audi E-Tron 50 too)
- Full Volvo Main Dealer history (7 stamps) until 07.07.15 at 71115 mls (always with Johnson's Gloucester) and from 86120mls and 30.04.2016 the car has been serviced with BMC Volvo in Cheltenham (7 stamps), both by the previous owner as well as myself (last service was on 16.11.2022 at 156403 mls. I decided to bring the car to the same specialist since they know the car.
- Purchased the car on 24.09.2022 with license plate TR10CJW and from the 29.09.2022 the plate changed to Y888KUT.
- MOT until 15.11.2023 with no advisories, performed on 02.11.2022 at 154895 mls and diesel emission test passed at only 0.08 grams which seems to be really low.
- 19" Galateiea wheels in great shape with Michelin Lattitude Sport 3 summer tyres with plenty of thread
- Ember Black (Inscription colour) on black interior with Executive piping.

Pre purchase inspection report dating from 09.2022 available.

Since my purchase the following has been done:
- On call deactivated (only message in the instrument cluster)
- Castrol Edge 5W-30 oil
- Annual service
- Motor fan replaced
- Rear N/S brake replaced
- Steering angle sensor replaced (I had the "anti skid message)
- Complete wiring tow bar replaced (for use with bicycle carrier)

Car has only been used for long distance driving between the UK, the Netherlands and Germany and comes with 2 keys, V5C, invoices (invoices from previous owner who swapped the car for a Tesla, are not available yet can be checked with the previous garages.
In winter I drove with a 17" set of wheels.

Following options came as extra:
Nivomat
Tinted glass
Remote child lock
Tempa spare wheel (removed as I drove with a full 17" alloy in the back and wheel was completely rusted)
Rear AC
Passenger airbag cut/off.

Now the bits that will need attention in the future (next service ?):
- Front right lower suspension arm bush slight wear
- Front brake discs inner faces corroded (used to squeak upon purchase, not any more)
- Condenser fins corroded causing slight loss of efficiency
- Occasional heavy steering (2%-4% of the time at stationary speeds) most likely caused by PAS pump
- Front massage function appears faulty
- There is a small stone chip on the bonnet and some light scratches, most likely caused by shrubs/branches due to driving on rural country roads

During my stewardship I have spent about GBP 500 and EUR 1000 to get the car in a great condition and I have tried to describe the car to the best of my abilities.

Asking price is GBP 5200 (for which the car will be delivered anywhere in England, provided I get a ride to the nearest airport) and if in doubt how I sell my cars I can bring you in contact with the chap who bought my last XC90 through this forum :-)

Pictures ofcourse on request, not in any hurry to sell so will not be entertaining silly offers, hence putting the car for sale on here and not in the Facebook XC90 group for now !

Cheers,
Alain

1 previous owner until my purchase & Cambelt change

In addition to the previous text I can share that the cambelt has been changed in 10.2019 at around 138K mls as per the sticker under the bonnet.

Also it seems I have not mentioned that there was just one lady owner before me (proof by service book and V5C in her name) The length of her ownership of the car and consistency of maintenance decided me to look through the mileage and I have used the car only for trips within the UK and to Europe. I rather drive a 200K mls car used on the motorways instead of one with 50K mls and driven around town. Probably the reason why I passed the MoT Diesel test with flying colours and apparently an emission the level of a EUR 6 vehicle.

Should anyone be interested and want to get in contact with BMC Volvo at Highfield Business Park, Tewkesbury Road in Cheltenham, please let me know by PM and I will let them know that they will have my permission to share details about the car with you (GDPR and privacy rules these days)

Nothing to hide with you and hope I find someone interested on here instead of eBay, AutoTrader, Facebook or Gumtree :-)

Price lowered

As I was kindly informed my car was priced slightly on the high side, I hereby lower the price from GBP 5200 to GBP 4700. Delivery for full asking price England wide can be discussed. This is also in line with Auto Trader so I hope this is a rather good deal for any of you on the Forum (really do not want to try to sell it through Facebook XC90 Owner Club if possible)

Cheers,
Alain

AlainBrighton Jul 2nd, 2023 19:46

Tax rate

Hi mate,

not sure if I told you yet the tax rate is GBP 395 per year.

Glad you bought the car, you will not regret it.

Also forget to mention that you will have free parking at English Heritage sites :-)

Hi Alain

I posted a reply to you a couple of days ago but it appears not to have made it to air (internet heat gremlins maybe lol)

I am glad m8 your VED is only £395.00 and hopefully that will be an incentive for. Some-one to purchase it.
Mine unfortunately was just about to go up to £675 so much as I loved it enough was enough and in the cold reality of common sense it had to go but it really hurt accepting £2k for it PX as it. was MY 08 and on parting had only done 128k.
It was absolutely immaculate with most of the important toys and on checking the other night has now moved from Devon and now resides somewhere in Windsor....

Maybe somebody on here has just purchased it.

Any way m8 I am lovin the Jag so far. and I wish you well with the sale of your XC90.

Regards Ian.

hi is this still for sale?

AlainBrighton Aug 11th, 2023 17:55

Hi mate, sorry for the late reply, as soon as I brought the car within the range of prices AutoTrader suggested, the car sold within the hour so it has gone to a happy new owner in Bonnie Scotland :-) Good luck with the hunt
