D6 Twin engine...??
Morning all,
does anyone know if Volvo fitted the D6 variant to a V70 in the UK? I can see it on some V60's but nothing else so far. My current job has me driving a fair bit and sometimes I need to get into town centres that are LEZ so car has to be a euro 6. Currently my euro 4 2.4 V70 just is not cutting the mustard for emissions so I may have to upgrade but do not want to downsize. Thanks in advance... |
As far as I know there hasn't been any D6 twin engine anywhere in anything except the V60.
There's a Penta D6 marine engine, but that's another cup of tea... |
Anything after 2014 surely is Euro6?

Four cylinder VEA diesels were certainly Euro 6 compliant from MY2015 - some may have been available earlier, but you'd need to check individually. I believe the later/last twin turbo D5s were as well? Again, from what engine number or MY I'm not sure... No 5 cylinder 2 litre D3 or D4s were ever made Euro 6 compliant. Euro 5B was the best they got to (and that isn't ULEZ compliant. I recently changed my wife's sold-as-"Eco" 2013 D2 C30 that was only Euro5 for a 2017 V40 D4 R-Design Pro that is almost double the power (190bhp)and is Euro6. We have been into London and it definitely passed the ULEZ test. It's hardly "eco" though; it goes like a scalded cat... She does average 55mpg in it, though - the C30 averaged 59mpg.
