I must say, Cooks, I prefer the clear against dark paintwork

Looking good, 4x4! Interested to see how the bumper trim comes up.

Thanks Baffler, I'm still waiting on the riverts arriving but I decided to change the bumper this afternoon

It looks amazing compared to the horrible textured painted bumper that was on the car

First picture is the textured paint

Looks lovely!

Did you get those bumpers new or second hand?

Second hand in keeping with the age of the car, a new bumper would have looked out of place

Fitted the numberplate onto a plinth and cut a couple of wedges to fit behind the plinth so that the plate sits vertically. Not sure if I'll keep the plinth as it sticks out at the ends more than I would have liked

The bumper pop rivets arrived this afternoon so I went out to the garage and fitted them, I was concerned the holes might have been drilled too large by the person who painted the bumper but the plastic covering on the rivets filled the hole nicely.

New green coolant cap was fitted for some preventative maintenance.

Next was the top torque mount which I have caught just before it splits and parts company from the outer shell. I used a hacksaw and cut the old mount out then used a couple of large sockets along with nut & bolt to press the new mount back into it's housing

Looks like I changed the top torque mount just in time

Made a start on the rear bumper brackets, then while I had the bumper off I decided to remove the towbar as I've no plans of towing with the 850

Rear bumper back on and the lines of the car look much better without the droopy bumper and more so without the towbar

Mission accomplished

I’ve finally finished my 850 and brought it back to a car that I’m sure Volvo would be happy to have in their showroom.

Have you had good experience with the rubber clenz? I’ve searched quite a bit and found g-techniq c4 has had good reviews. Would be good to compare

Well the Rubber Clenz never worked out. The car was outside when it rained last night and the bumpers were covered in water marks so today I stripped them back and applied GTechniq C4 which I know works
