Goodbye P2 S60, gone, but not forgotten.
|
It is often forgotten how successful this model was back in its heyday. It was one of the last true Volvo's developed without Ford and really and truly broke the mould for the company. It could also be argued that it was the influence behind 'four door coupes' such as the Mercedes CLS with its sloping roofline and overall coupe-like appearance.
Farewell P2 S60, you will never be forgotten! |
Excellent, can we now push up our resale values?
"They don't make these anymore you know?" :) |
|
It's even better, when the new one is launched we can bang on about how it's a Ford not a Volvo, how much worse the build quality is than the old S60, how all the new-fangled electronic gizmos will fail, etc, etc, etc :D
|
RIP S60.
It's lasted 2 months longer than expected - the last one was supposed to roll off the line in January. Love those wheels on the final car! |
The Sorrow
Lets keep the S60 name proud, look after your Volvos everyone.
I am however looking forward to the new S60 design, I think I saw suicide doors on it... fancy, however it might only be a feature on the oncept version, could you imagine it as an optional extra! Roy |
They're not actually suicide doors; when you open them they kinda fold out and slide back...difficult to describe. I hope they manage to keep them in the production model as I like the car without the B-pillar.
This shows them off well... http://www.volvogallery.org.uk/data/3240/18246_1_5.jpg |
hopefully the customer realises that his/her car is very special and is looked after propally.
