Fuel Gauge...

Been a while....... Think that's a good sign.

After my fuel gauge on the T4 died a few months ago, me and my mate finally whipped it out the other weekend and found a broken wire/connector.

Sorted, tank was full and the gauge read correctly.

Wouldn't start on Friday. Gauge read a quarter (ish) full and 85 miles left in the tank. Turns out I was empty!!! Here we go again. Put £15 in and gauge hasn't moved. Stuck!!

Any thoughts guys?

T4s only like full tanks of fuel, maybe.

Seriously, is £15 worth of fuel enough to register on the gauge.

Yes its enough - the needle will just deplete quicker on a T4 lol.

LOL ........OK, pretend I filled to the brim....... the needle is still showing the same and only 85miles left in the tank. A match in the tank would probably be a good idea!!!

If the gauge read full with a full tank it was obviously working correctly at that time. It would appear the float has stuck as the tank emptied and is not now 'floating' as and when more fuel is added. I think all you can do is remove the unit and manually test the float movement out of the tank.

Yeah, you'll have to take out the sender unit and check out what's the deal. The floater is stuck or the potentiometer is worn.
