Can anybody help with a search for 2000 C70 Convertible hinge microswitch part no 8614958 - I need 2 to repair my beautiful T5 recently restored; - or am I destined to scrap the Car owing to lack of parts (pause for gentle sobbing sound!)........

Although new microswitches are no longer available there is no need to sob..Get on Facebook as plenty of cars being broken on there. Search for Karl Sabin as he has two for sale at the moment.
