XC70 Wanted...

Hi,

I am currently looking for a XC70, has to have dark interior and 4C Active Chassis. Ideally less then 140 thousand miles. Can stretch to £6K for the right car.

Not sub 140k miles but well under your budget is my car...

My wife’s XC 70 is a 2010 SE Lux spec . It’s black with black leather and well under your budget . It’s an auto with the 215 bhp D5 five cylinder bullet proof motor. She is the second owner. It’s got a proper service history. It has done 196,000 miles though. She is looking to trade up to a younger car and it can be available right now.
She would be interested in an XC90 in a deal cash to add. We just had our first grand child and believe it or not need a bigger car.......

Thanks for the offers, but I really want to do the mileage myself, so having a lower mileage one to begin with will be better.

I have found two examples that fit the bill, one has no pictures at present and picture are not going to added until it has been MOT'd.

The other one ticks all of the boxes but when I carried out a MOT check corrosion of the rear subframe was brought up as an advisory 2 years ago but hasn't been mentioned since - should I leave well alone??

Its worth looking at it to see how bad the corrosion is. Maybe it hasn’t been mentioned since because it has been fixed? Or it went for MOT’s at another garage since sub frame was mentioned? Hard to say, but you could have a look & take a glance underneath.

Corrosion isn’t unheard of, especially if it has been used off road & mud etc has accumulated when it should have been washed properly.

Corrosion can be anything from a light dusting to large gaping holes. If it hasn’t failed on corrosion holes it’s more likely a dusting of corrosion.
When we bought ours it was three years old and had one previous owner- on lease. Already had 100,000 miles on the clock. People who buy an awd large estate generally have a job for it to do. That means miles. Good luck with your search.
