Big Brakes!!

I just secured the purchase of these HiSpec 'Monster 6' pot 335mm brakes for the T4. Direct bolt on too. Very happy. Roll on the trackdays next year. Should stop the car a lot better than stock. The brakes on Volvos I've driven have always been a weak point given the power of the car.

Here a pic of them:

Silly question, but are these the Volvo sized discs an pads or the evo ones?

Oops, just re-read post. 335mm..... wow. Do they fit ok with the 17" arcadias or other 16" alloys?

Also, I guess you had to remove the brake dust guards

I am told Arcadias are very big brake friendly so I have my fingers crossed they will fit. I haven't researched the 16" wheels. I'm pretty sure the dust guard will need to be removed. I wont be fitting them until December but I will update the thread once I have. They are a kit made for the T4 specifically and came off a T4 so I don't foresee any major problems. Touches wood lol

The pic of the brakes is from the guy I purchased them from.

I have just found out there is no chance of the brakes fitting under 16" wheels.

Volvo OEM brakes are pretty good, usually there is an issue with the rear calipers sticking, if running OEM Volvo vented discs with maybe braided lines and perhaps slightly different pads the brakes are very good.

Btw, what size discs did you go for on the rear to keep the brake bias correct?

Brake bias is fine with stock rears and has been tried and tested. With the stock setup I'm more concerned with fade which is big problem especially as I want to do some track driving. The big brakes should improve performance when I am really abusing them on track. I can make the volvo setup fade even on the road with a few high speed stops into roundabouts or in the twisties.

Think I got quite lucky. The guy was breaking his car in Singapore! Never seen a used set for sale and new they are £1300ish. Now just got to wait for them to arrive which will be a while.

If you are lucky you can fit it behind the Acadias. My 330mm K-Sport setup just fits but with 5mm spacer.
