1992 Volvo 240 Saloon on Ebay.

Now this has nothing to do with me, but this is rather weird - here's a 1992 240 automatic saloon with air conditioning on ebay at the moment. It's not in perfect condition, but it's certainly rare enough - could it be an import of some kind?

Oh yes, (at £1425, no wonder it's rare), but I didn't think they registered 240 saloons this late in the UK. Saloons were sold alongside estates in the US until 1993, but I thought that 1991 was the absolute last date for a 240 saloon in the UK? Perhaps this one is just a late registration.

There is an estate near me that I think is a 1992... will have a look next time. Been trying to get my hands on it for a while now.

Have seen L reg estates, but think K was the last saloons?

Always liked the red ones, is it as healthy as it looks in the photo?

If its not to cheeky, how much did you pay?. Only interested as I paid £600 for a nice GL of ebay just before christmas. I don't know weather it was the time of year but they seem to be going for double or triple that now.

Sorry I've taken this thread off on a tangent.

Hi, I guess i'll find out tomorrow (well today technically if you look at the post time!!)

Not seen it in the flesh yet as I live 200 miles away, hopefully it'll be as good as the pics suggest as I'm getting the train down and driving it home.

Hard to find a good enough mate who'll drive you all that way and give a lift back if it all goes pear shaped!! So a one way ticket and a lot of hope I suppose it is!! lol :err:

I don't mind at all mate.

I paid £460.00, so hopefully a bit of a bargain, plus £40 on the train and about the same in petrol to get me home, £540 in total will do for me if it's a good-en.

Apparently within the last year it's had a new clutch, exhaust and head.
Hopefully not a sign that it's on it's way out.

I swore YEARS ago that I'd never buy another red car as they're bad luck (I wrote off my XR3i 3 weeks after passing my test!) so I pray it's as good as it's been advertised!

Ramble, ramble, Ramble!! :chatterbox:

I'll check back in when I've got it. Have to post in 2 sections now though as I've already got a 965!!

I'll start a new thread though I promise!
