Progression on 760T Restoration

9 Attachment(s)
Its been a while since i put up a update up on the 760 restoration job,
i hope everyone is alright especially with the past year or so of complete madness.

Anyway progression has been rather slow but the interior has been overhauled:

*Extra bitumen sound deadening has been added
*noise cancellation butyl panels have been put into the doors and panels
*A thick layer of wool has been added under the carpet to help with insulation
*All instrumentation bulbs, copper contacts, solder joints, etc.. have been done
*heat reflective tape on the inside of heater juction, top of gauge cluster, and
Radio Amplifier
*And finally just a check on all the connections and re crimp if necessary and
neatly cable tied the loom.

The previous owner who lived i'm sure lived in the ocean, decided to get the under body resprayed with the original stone chip trapping the salt water rich air between body and stone "vinyl" chip, so its full of holes. Thankfully all of the holes are on the outer edge of the car so just need new sills and arches.

Decided to copy the 760 Brochure chassis gear colour that they used to advertise the rear suspension (and still have no idea if it was enamel or urathane paint) and its gone rather well-ish still need a few more parts to paint.

Last but not least the engine has had a been a huge pain, the task was to achive 230hp out of the motronic system, so we had to find the turbo boost cut off psi (10.5psi) and avoid boost creep at WOT, so we have gone for a cosworth turbo with 2.5 exhaust and 55 trim compressor with slightly larger injectors.

Nice work Jack!

You've saved me doing the research on what I need to do for mine to be about that power as well. Me and Dave were talking about it and thought I'd have to do something like that to get more power. Although in my owners manual from a 1988 760 turbo it says the overboost is at 9.7psi.

The suspension looks great too.

A shame that the floor and sills have rotten through, looks quite bad from the photos.

Cheers luke,

I figured that you might need to add just a little more tension on the air flow sensor spring if you wanted more boost, but you could run the risk of running lean at WOT, so i suppose you could put slightly bigger injectors in to compensate. Or perhaps put a variable resistor on the cold start injector

I think on some models it varies, it might be because of the spring tension within the air flow meter is ever so slightly higher or lower.

Yeah unfortunately it looks like a colander atm, but hopefully i can weld a new floor in once I've finished the interior.
