One last drive....Turbo, N/A or Electric?
You are about to make your LAST EVER car journey from the position of the drivers seat. A high speed 30 mile blast down a derestricted Autobahn, followed by 10 miles of empty twisty rural roads.
After that, it's public transport only. No more driving. Which propulsion method would you chose for your final driving swansong? - 400bhp Turbo Charged. - 400bhp Naturally Aspriated - 400bhp Electric Motor VOTE ABOVE! |

My last ever drive NOT in the driving seat will probably be a little slow, so I've plumped for the Turbo which would very likely lead to the aforementioned!

In an ever depressing world, what a depressing thread. I'm out.

You have been chosen for euthanasia; for your last meal do you want: A. Fish and chips. B. Curry. C. Pizza. Just for fun. |
I don't think the question asks the right question ... it doesn't set the parameters upon which the response needs to be based.
So if I were to answer the question in terms of products & tech currently available, although the car itself might not be currently available ... it would be the n/a petrol car. Because it has instant throttle response, and due to not needing all the intercooler & turbo stuff the engine weighs less - hence the car weighs less. And it comes in manual. Electric motivation would be brilliant if the drivetrain mounted to the engine allowed any driver interaction & intimacy. But no such thing exists at the moment. And while electric cars are great at acceleration, they're sterile & dull at everything else, they're whitegoods ... they can go fast, but they prove that "blisteringly fast" can be dull. |

I would chose a Honda Gold Wing GL 1800. If I'm going out, I'm going out with the wind in my hair. |

Well then, ditch the lorry you've chosen and take a GSXR1000 or similar. |
