So far so good for my D4 Lux Nav. :-)
The dorris and I were at loggerheads as to go for this or the the Scirocco R-line but in the end I won out (for once) and my spangly toy is now here! To me the V40 is in another class to the Scirocco - although not quite as pretty, the V40 and trim level is waaay better for the money. First impressions of the Volvo are great - being in the Volvo is like sitting in something engineered for quality rather than bits of old wheelie bin that were thrown together as cheaply and quickly as possible. I tried out a couple of BMW as well, the 330D and the 135 M sport and really was not impressed by either. Considering that we're talking similar money across the board, the V40 was the clear winner. For my hard earned I got: Winter pack Adaptive cruise control Bliss Sports chassis Bendy lights Full leather Spare wheel (how come this is an option nowadays?) Park pilot Extra safety stuff Navigation Other things I've forgotten about From VW I would have got some wheels and an engine. :-) The only downside is the load space but it seems about average for this class of car but coming from a V70, everything is small! |
nice choice.....
we opted for the D4 V40 R Design lux. Not as many toys as you though The cabin is very superior to others we've driven. I have a mk5 golf GT Sport which is well spec'd and it's bland and tinny in comparison. Our V40 is starting to come alive now - we've clocked up 1900 miles now and it's always a pleasure to drive. |
My MPG seemed to jump up when we hit 2000 miles.
Nice car Mr Fro |
Lovely!!
Looks exactly the same as ours....also a D4 R-Design Lux Geartronic (well, the eqv in Germany). Fast when wanted/needed, frugal (53mpg on a run) and quality material everywhere. Has now done over 6000 mls and the car gets only better and better! |
