1999 v70 t5

Hello everyone,

Well it is with great sadness that we have to part with the beast and so have decided to put it up here on the forum and see if someone would like to give it that little bit of love and attention that is needed to keep it going strong for the next 10+ years.

So where do we start.......... well it is a 1999 T5 automatic with 106000 miles on the clock, (we bought it with 53k 6 years ago) it has MOT and tax till the back end of October. We are the 2nd owner from new and has been look after well, I took it to the local garage to have the oil etc changed as I found the main dealers to be a total rip off for what they did. It is only going as I am now working in my home town and my wife decided she would like a smaller and more economical car as she commutes to work and ends up in a lot of stop start traffic. So below is listed some of the spec:

Leather interior
4x electric windows
Electric mirrors
Heated drivers mirror
Drivers memory seat with three settings
Interior wooden surround
Volvo 6 disc loader
Rear spoiler
Load cover
Volvo satnav (top dash mounted)
Cruise control

There are plenty of other standard bits that I cannot remember of the top of my head just now. There a couple of scratches, stone chips and dents on the car that is 9 years old, however you have to remember that this is a family car and has been used for exactly that purpose!

So now down to the bits that are letting the car down, however have not stopped it from working as it should do. The engine management and ABS light decide to come on every now and then and then will just go back off, cannot be anything serious as we have just completed a 2000 mile round trip to Italy fully loaded with children and belongings and the beast did not miss a beat!! The car has also produced an oil leak, this I have managed to get checked by my local garage and he believes it maybe coming from the crankcase seal, again we did the journey to Italy and back with it like this and just kept our eye on the oil level and topped up when necessary.

So there you go that is my Volvo warts and all! Please let me know if you require any further information or photos and I will be happy sort everything out, my contact email address is grumpyoldman68@hotmail.co.uk. In regards to price well I have no idea to be honest, after this Thursday it will be sitting on the drive and gathering dust so I would rather it went sooner rather than later. If no one is interested in it as a whole then I may well look into breaking it, however it is far too good a car for that IMHO!

Cheerio for now
