'04 XC90 D5 Auto Black all the extras

I am reluctantly thinking of selling my beloved 2004 XC90 D5 Auto. We are in hard times and so having a spending purge at the moment trying to pay off some debts, so are looking at buying a smaller cheaper car to see us through the next couple of years :(

163bhp, no modifications, all factory standard vehicle
Mileage is 148,000
Metallic Black paint
Full black leather interior with electric & heated front seats, in excellent condition for the age, not cracked and split like some that I viewed.
6 CD changer in the dash
Factory DVD Sat Nav (rises out of dashboard)
Minidisc player in dash
Side steps / running boards
Electric folding door mirrors
Electric sunroof, fully functioning and no leaks, drainage pipes have been cleaned and cleared
Rear seat pillar mounted stereo selection system
Roof mounted flip down screen with roof mounted dvd player, factory fitted.
New front tyres about 5,000 miles ago. Rear tyre tread is ok.
New front discs and pads about 5,000 miles ago
Parking break fully functional and passed MOT
Gearbox oil was flushed using the gibbons method at 125,000 miles with genuine Volvo fluid.
MOT + Tax for another 7 months
Fully functioning AWD

No tow bar and never been used for towing
The mpg is excellent, probably because it is mainly only used for long motorway journeys. The on dash display is currently showing 39mpg average.

The known-to-be-weak rubber 'rear main oil seal' (Core plug) was replaced with the upgraded metal plug last summer (£800 bill) and head gasket was done at the same time.

I bought this car about 18months ago. It had 1 owner for the first year (I think it may have been a demonstrator or company vehicle as is fully specced) and then 1 private owner for the rest of its life until I bought it. All servicing has been thorough and on time, and every service has been either at a Volvo main dealer or at a Volvo Specialist, as listed in the Volvo Owners Club recommended garages list.
It has just been serviced this week at Sheffield & Meredith Volvo Specialist in Leicester.
I have all the receipts showing all the works that have been done, not just mine but the previous owner aswell, it has been well looked after and every recommended work done at each service.

Now for the honesty section:

There are a few marks on the bodywork to be expected with a car of this age, but generally is in very good condition.

The DVD player is abit fussy with the discs it plays and in all honesty could probably do with being replaced. It is a standard DIN mount DVD unit and can be replaced for about £100 from ebay or car audio places.

The screen for the radio is sometimes very very dim, I have read all the horror stories about these being prone to faults on the XC90 and causing all sorts of other problems with the electrical system, however with my hand on my heart I can say the unit functions perfectly, nothing else is affected, all works faultlessly, its just that sometimes in the daytime you cant read the screen. It has been like this since I bought it and has not made any difference to the operation of the vehicle or the sound system.

I am looking for offers in the region of £6000 ono, if you're interested please email me at nmullinger@gmail.com and I can send some photos, or you're welcome to come and view it, I live in South Leicestershire.

Any queries or questions just ask.

Nick

I forgot to mention it also has the built in phone and handset, multifunctional steering wheel, electric windows, remote central locking, alarm, electric mirrors, air conditioning, power steering and antilock brakes, etc.

It truly is an excellent example and I am gutted to be selling it. If any interest or offers let me know either by PM on here or at nmullinger@gmail.com

Sheree850r I am not actively advertising anywhere else, such as autotrader, until jan or feb so let me know if your situation changes in the new year.

Sounds brilliant. Unfortunately I'm part ex ing one of my cars as the majority of my budget so don't have the ready funds, I may well advertise mine and sell privately. If I do, il be in touch.

Exactly, why im not wasting money on autotrader adverts until feb at least. Also means i get the use of my trusty steed over the winter months :) (unless someone on here snatches her away in the meantime!)

Is this car still for sale?

I've tried sending PM but cant due to 30 posts...
Hi,

I like its description. Could you please send some photos to me scotsman.25@ntlworld.com ?

I'm currently a Mitsubishi Pajero Owner, and a member of the owners club. I bought that car through the owners club as you tend to find those cars are a bit more honest than what's on the street. As much as I love them (its my fourth) I also had a S60 for many many happy years.

I'm now getting itchy car feet and want the best of volvo and 4x4 worlds... hence I now have a current interest in XC90s.

Is there much difference between 163/185 engines?

I'm weighing my options between a few cars, but a club member generally wins over dealers...! :-)

Many thanks, hope to hear from you shortly.

Craig Young. Leeds.

Craig, thanks for the interest, unfortunately it really is a great car, so much so that i have decided to hang into it for abit longer. I dont really need the space anymore so do still plan to downsize, but i just cant decide what to downsize to at the moment. It'll probably be for sale towards the end of the year, but thats probably not much help, sorry!
