V40 gear stick light not working
 

Hi does anyone know what’s involved in sorting the illumination on my 2013 V40 se lux gearstick it had never worked and keen to get it working again .

My 2016 V40 auto does not have an illuminated gear knob. According to the brochure for 2016 it comes as part of the winter illuminations pack or lux winter pack. Not sure about other years but may be your car does not have the illuminated gear knob?

You can check if yours has the eliminated gear stick by feeling for a small cable running down from the gear knob, I think mine is at the rear of gear stick

My v40 R has it as standard

If your does have the illuminated knob, then you can check the flex cable.
Flex cable goes through a piece of plastic guide, it got/gets pinched here in the red circle, and stops working.
