ETM Software Fix is AutoExpress Magazine
In Issue 901 of AutoExpress magazine (page 62). There is a snippet about a software update to cure the Electronic Throttle Module fault on all of the effected petrol Volvos (i.e. S60, V70 etc). Apparently it if free and is available from all Volvo dealers from April.
Has any one heard of this as I thought the fault was hardware related and not software. Anyway worth a check. I had my ETM cleaned a little while ago and it has been spot on since, mind for free I might get it updated. Philip |
The software fix stops the car shutting down when the ETM goes wrong.

ETM Software upgrade
There are some comments regarding this upgrade on the performance section under the title "Throttle Body Modification"
There are some mixed opinions and some people are concerned that the throttle response becomes slower after the upgrade. I am going to try and wait and see what the general opinion is before approaching the Dealers. |
ETM Problem
In the latest S60s does anyone know if it has been fixed ?
I have been told by Volvo that they no longer use a carbon potentiometer, but they did not know what replaced it. It was suggested that it was now just on or off ! This seems a bit sus to me. Flat out or stop ? I am interested in buying a new one hence my interest. Barry |
