V60 Phev Recall- rear leaf spring.

Just got a recall notification for my '23MY estate... Something to do with a check to see if the rear leaf spring is susceptible to failure, if it is, it will be rebooked in for replacement....

Cheers
Bob

Several days have now passed since my original post, but no one else has had this recall notice???. Also I can't find any reference to this recall on the web. Volvo recall site says the vehicle (ID by ViN) has a un resolved recall but not what it is...
I find these events strange..

Booked into dealer next week, so thing's should become clearer
Cheers Bob.

I’ve not had anything for mine, but the VIN does show a recall for something on the Volvo website. Nothing on the DVLA one yet though.

In my experience Volvo do issue their recall notices in stages to stop everyone ringing the dealer all at once. Maybe you are just one of the first ones?

Took car to local dealer yesterday for recall. As stated they checked the non metallic transverse leaf spring. This according to dealer was a simple visual check of part number on said spring to the part number the build data says it should be. I was in and out in 20 minutes.
My vehicle required no further action.

Begs the question how many different leaf springs Volvo make for different models to get this wrong…

Cheers Bob

Leaf spring on a 2023 car? Seems very odd as i thought all modern volvos had indipendent suspension?

The system Volvo uses provides fully independent rear suspension with a single, transversely mounted composite leaf spring providing the 'spring' element, see attached photo for clarity.

Times have moved on considerably since the days of a 'live' rear axle and a steel leaf spring mounted on either side, except maybe on the Toyota Hi-Lux...........

i thought it woudlnt be the same as the old trucks but was shocked it still has a leaf spring!
