M90 Swap

Hi all,

I'm wondering if anybody has the definitive answer on doing an m90 swap. I've looked already at many forum posts and believe the following, but please correct if wrong!

Parts needed:
M90 Box
Manual gearbox mount - more on that below
Clutch and flywheel
940 master cylinder, slave cylinder and hydraulic lines
M90 rear mount
Shifter, linkage and knob
Pedals

Where I am a little confused is...

Mine is a 1989 GLT auto but don't know what the final drive ratio is, if I don't swap the manual axel will it be very short geared?

Also, with the gear linkage, which exact linkage do you need for the m90?

With the prop shaft, will I need to lengthen the original, or can you buy one which would fit off the shelf?

With the other manual gearbox mount, will an original 240 one work, or does it need an m90 specific mount?

If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ed

You need

the M90 gearbox
flywheel/clutch to match the M90
Conversion mounting bracket for M90 to 240
240 gearbox mount. You can use the M47 or M46 mount (the auto crossmember is the same)
prop - 240 m47 prop lengthened by 50mm or you can shorten the 940 front half
240 manual pedal box
240 clutch master cylinder
metal clutch hose
flexible clutch hose
M90 gear linkages. Shorten by 100mm and use M90 gear lever. Drill hoses to use the M90 support bracket. I do also do a gear lever that fixes to the original holes and does not use the alloy bracket so only the steel linkage to modify.

You can get a spacer that bolts between the M90 output flange & M47 propshaft that saves adapting propshafts.
I can also recommend classicswedes M90 to m47 mount adapter.
