2012 V60 D2 Poor Acceleration/Lack of Power
Hi Folks! Long time lurker, first time poster.
Basically, i've had my V60 for nearly 2 years now (108k on the clock since new), trouble free until this morning. My daily commute is a 120 mile round trip, but as I hit the motorway, I noticed that the acceleration was astoundingly poor. Slower than the lorries that I was trying to go past. Going up hills, I need to stick it in 3rd just to maintain motorway speeds (~60mph) which can't be great for the engine. It revs fine when in neutral and I can't hear any irregular engine sounds, either when in motion or when stationary. I've had a look around the forum and a bit of general googling, and it would seem to be pointing toward the DPF sensor. Would this be a correct assumption? I don't want to take it to a garage only for them to umm and ahh over it for a few days. My car is essential to getting me to work as the public transport costs are exorbitant, and so i'd like to get it diagnosed and rectified in as little time as possible. If the forum has any other suggestions that I can investigate myself, i'm all ears. I don't have an OBD, but they're not too pricey and I could get one if this is probably a coded fault. Oh, and there's no black smoke or 'dirty' exhaust gasses from what I can see so I have ruled out a turbo problem for now. The lack of acceleration is through the full range of the rev counter anyway. |
Anyone?
The problem has gone away for now but I don't want it coming back, or getting any worse if it does. |

Going to get it into my guy later this month.
The problem's not recurred but I guess i'll suggest to check the DPF. Will let you know how I get on. |
I'd be interested to know as I have a similar problem despite having replaced the MAP & MAF sensors.

Was driving fine, restarted and exactly the same as you describe. Did you track the issue? Donald |
