VW scandal - which is the only 7 seat PHEV?

The XC90 T8 Twin Engine is the only 7 seat PHEV I could find...

I thought the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV might fit the bill but it turns out the PHEV version loses the 3rd row of seats available in the standard diesel model.

In the wake of the VW scandal I forecast rising demand!

Maybe, but if you have 25k for a Touran, or 30k for a Sharan, you do not necessarily have 60k for an XC90....

I agree.

If, however, you are considering buying a 7 seater diesel BMW X5 or Merc GL-class and after the VW scandal decide you don't want a diesel but do want something more economical & cleaner than a conventional petrol there isn't any choice. An XC90 it will have to be.

A first world issue...

Tesla now do two 7 seaters. The Model S and the Model X.

Good point.
I couldn't have a Tesla because, financial considerations aside, I live in London and have nowhere to charge them.

I should have added that another obvious source of potential post-VW buyers of T8 Twin Engine XC90s could be those who were considering a D5 XC90.

The Model S is a very attractive deal for me. Contract Hire prices aren't too bad and the additional cost over my current XC90 is less than I spend in diesel a month. I could easily have a charger installed at work and living in Sheffield there's virtually nowhere in the UK I couldn't get on a full charge. The car is wide enough to get 3 child seats in plus the luggage space is very good. Obviously it goes like **** off a shovel too :) Oh and it's AWD.

And the Model X? Well, have you seen those doors? My goodness...
