03 S40 A/C & Heater blower motor ?
 

Hi forum people, My car has developed an irritating problem :( When I turn the blower control knob settings 1 & 2 are ineffective, 3 the fan starts, the same speed is recieved through the next settings and only changes when the dial is maxed out (No.7 I think), and that is only slightly faster than 3 onwards.

Right Ok, so 2nd issue is that when the fan is running it cuts in & out like climate control - with A/C on or off.

3rd problem is that with the fan motor running the exhaust notes changes totally, and with the A/C on aswell it sounds twice as bad, somewhat akin to across between it being muffled & someone blowing through a comb with tissue paper on it

Sounds like the blower motor resistor has packed up for the fan speed problem. Thats the first thing to change.

Cheers Dandle, sounds painful, where should I be looking ?

I believe it's housed behind the glove compartment. Do a search on blower speed resistor or I think the Haynes manual covers it also.
