Well, I'll tell you - IT PASSED AGAIN! Cue insane laughter! Yes, our wonderful old tank has passed the MOT yet again, and all the tester (hat-tip Meuryn Evans) did was replace the high-level brake light bulb; there were two advisories - one slightly frayed lap belt (rear) but webbing not significantly weakened, and one exhaust clamp just brushing the gearbox, so he called that 'part of system slightly deteriorated'. The breath test? CO: < 3.5% pass, actual 0.14%; HC: <1200ppm to pass, actual 53ppm - YEE-HAH!!! You know, I think that auctioneer saw me coming, I mean, c'mon, £143 for a car with only (at least) 4 years of life left in it? PAH! Roll on next November. Citizen Happy. |

I bought a 740 estate for £100 from this forum about 3/4 years ago. I bought it for spares but my dad talked me into giving it to him as a stopgap car for a few months. He's still got it now and it too has just walked its M.O.T, like every other MOT!
Runs on LPG, too. |
