ETM troubles- what years affected?
 

Hi All,
Thinking seriously of buying a V70, either petrol or diesel, just been reading about the ETM problem with the petrol engines and it sounds like one to be avoided if at all possible. Do we know exactly which models/years/chassis numbers are affected? Also are the later models any better? I'm assuming it doesn't affect the diesel versions although I believe these have problems with injectors?

Any info gratefully received.

1999-2001/2 I believe.

The earlier D5's (up to early 03) can have problems with the injectors, but Volvo will currently pay 50% of their cost to replace. Volvo won't contribute (or if they do only 5-10%) of the ETM issue so its swings and roundabouts!
