V70 Headlight Washer Pump

Does anyone know where the blazes I can get a Volvo headlight high pressure pump? I have the old unit out and I have looked everywhere, eBay seems to have none and I cannot find them from any of the Volvo parts sites.

Try this previous post I came across. http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showth...adlamp+washers

This looks very promising...

Ordered one, I will let you know how I get on with this - thanks.

So for the record, the pump I have removed is a Valeo 89030971 Volvo 30699674.

No worries. Best of luck. When you get round to replacing it could you do me a favour while you have your bumper off and measure the headlamp washers plastic pipe Inside diameter. As my 3way valve is goosed and I want to get a new one (non volvo) but don't want to take bumper off again to check pipe size.

Cheers.

Sure will.

Now wait a second, looking at the pump, which is sitting here, the output pipe OD is 7mm.

I will check though, it may drop after it splits down into 2.

I have the Ford Galaxy pump here, it is very similar.

To make it work I suspect I shall need to do the following:

Shave a little lip off the edge of the electrical connector, but otherwise the shape of the socket and the terminals are identical.

The output pipe has an O-ring and a push-fit connector type union. This makes the OD a bit bigger so the original pipe may or may not push over the top. If it doesn't I have 2 options, get another piece of pipe to make a reducer. Or carefully remove some material to reduce the size to accept the pipe.

The body is marginally smaller so it may not be as tight a fit into the washer bottle as the original, but this can be solved with a couple of layers of electrical tape around the body to build it up a little.

I am very confident this little pump will work just nicely.

It's been a good morning for Volvo parts, my pump came, my 2 reluctor rings and my gearbox driveshaft seals!

Fitted a Vauxhall pump and it is a snug fit no cutting
Paid Around £16 I think last year

OK that is the pump in and working.

The plug went in fine, I took a TINY bit off the lip on the socket to get it to go all the way home and latch, it fit the tank tight and I fired it all up and had water spraying all over the ground, so brilliant - it has never worked since I owned the car.

The pipe I will just force over the barb as I think that will work fine.

To follow up:-

And the I/D of thick pipe leading to washer jets is??

Cheers
