Phase 1 first registered 2002?!
Just spotted this motor on ebay.. phase 1 s40 first registered in 2002? wtf?

Does indeed look like a P1 going from bumpers and marker lights - a dealer must have had it sitting around for a hell of a time prior to registering it....

P1 interior as well

What we like to call the phase 1.5 model. Although identical in appearance to the phase 1 it has phase 2 seat adjusters, the heated seat and interior central locking switches & blank have a dip in them, it has a VVT engine and there's a blue Volvo emblem on the front grill. Just some subtle changes from the phase 1.
It will have phase 2 wiring loom with fog and headlamps controlled through the CEM. Fresh looking motor  |
I thought they were 2001, not 2002??

They even have different suspension components from the phase 1 and phase 2, hence all the confusion in regard to springs etc... This is obviously a very late registered car. Very last of the stock so to speak. That's my take on it anyway. |

You're talking at least two years the above car has been hanging around in a dealers/compound before registration. |
nice car on a private plate. its original reg mark starts with N so 96/97? thats very dodgy advertising a car that much younger than it really is
|
How did you come to that conclusion? Everything from the interior trim to the type of engine fitted clearly makes it a phase 1.5, which wasn't available until around '99.
I've seen a few Dublin registered phase 2 X40's with '05 registrations. Last of the stock I reckon... |
