It's black. Not painted - its a mottled finish similar to car interior trim panels.

There are some minor marks. The underside is slightly scuffed but nothing unsightly.

I will take some more pictures tomorrow as it is somewhat wet outside, here in damp Derbyshire.

The two grey cross members create compartments to stop items sliding around and are removable.
