To XCR... If it was a keeper ( as you put it ) in Nov last year, why didn't you keep it ??

Also if the " first offer of £500 takes it " ( as quoted by Jimbob ) why did you pay more ??

Did you spend £1500 just getting the wheels refurbed and painting the bumper ? As the previous owner put the stainless exhaust on it and it already had the LPG system fitted.

Just curious ?????

Very well put G64. He has not come across well in this thread.

I'm of the opinion that this will make it's money. £9K for what is essentially a "new" Volvo 850 will strongly appeal to the right sort of collector, irrespective of whether its a 2.5, T5, R, GLT or CD. It's a real automotive rarity. Yes, it might take time to sell but someone out there will want it.

Now, where's me chequebook lol.

John

I have to agree with you John, there are several low mileage N/A 850s for sale at the moment at between £8K and £9k but most of them are imports so a genuine UK car in as new condition is a rare item that will appeal to the collector who is looking for the best. Find another one...

Oh ? A couple of posts back you were agreeing to disagree ? No ? OK, have it your way...
Have you read some of the crap you yourself have posted ?
And now you're supporting someone who casts doubt on my honesty - have you even read my responses to what was being suggested ?
You come across as clueless yet opinionated. The worst kind.

Have a good day XCR.

I'm having a great day.
Second oil change of the year and, while I was at it, I degreased, scrubbed and refinished the under tray on both sides.
Painted the retaining bolts while they were out too. Crazy !

Mind you, its this attention to detail that translates into a superb finished product when the time comes to sell.
Those who know, know ;)

Perhaps you should celebrate your news of your Cherished Plate investments with a new motor ?

Funny XCR you sound very much like me! I too enjoy going a bit above and beyond with the mechanical maintenance. I am fortunate to have another vehicle however if and when I buy a new 90 my old one will remain with me as I love it!

I last changed the gear box oil at 70k in 2017/18 so that’s probably my next interesting serving item as I am at 110K now. It still shifts smoothly fortunately.

I had Volvo change the haldex fluid at 70K (for free) however that’s now overdue so I want to get that done. I look forward to that.

How far do you tend to go between changes?

XCR Apr 9th, 2021 15:49

They are next on my hit list.
I've only had the car since January and according to the file its been done within the last 12 months....but, theres nothing like peace of mind.
Soon...glow plugs !!!!
