Rear wheel bearing

Hi
After much poking around trying to find the cause of a strange noise and vibration on my v70 it is looking like it maybe the n/s/r wheel bearing,
I’ve had a look on line looking to see what kind of costs I’m facing and noticed it’s a sealed hub, I’ve replaced a few of these type of bearings in the past without to many issues.
Just wondered if anyone has done one on a p3 chassis car and what potential issues there maybe, any specialist tools needed?
I am a little concerned about the electronic handbrake as these are totally new to me
Any advise would be great

Just a thought, try the Mondeo forums for info, its the same hub.

I know Ford have used gen 3 hubs on some of their "later" vehicles, ie bearing, hub etc as all one part. It might give you a steer.

The electric handbrake on this chassis is mainly Volvo specific but its not a major issue to overcome DIY.

It’s a doddle… but some of the bolt heads are obscured so you need a quality 3/8” socket set and long wobble extensions. But with the right tools it’s a doddle.

Been a while due to work issues but thanks for the replies, beginning to end took just over an hr and that’s with my better half bringing me a coffee out, so far my first Volvo has been fairly straightforward to work on, just a few more niggles I need to work through……getting heated seat working will be a huge bonus lol

si robb has a you tube vid on heated seat element repair check fuses and switches first before any major work.

I have done both of mine and they are easy compared to the front push-in types. I think the manual says 55 mm torx or allan but it is actually a 50 mm or vice versa. Sorry for being vague but it was an while ago. Buy a kit which has long stems to get access as they are in a recess. Just make sure it isn't the tyres that are causing the noise as I have been caught out several times before .
