V40 T2 Momentum Nav Plus Geartronic any issues?

Parents looking at a 17 plate V40 T2 geartronic 1.5l petrol. Are these any good? Any nasty expensive issues? Is the engine a Volvo unit?

I have a 2016 V40 T2 1.5L geartronic. I have owned the car almost from new and am just coming up to 60,000 miles and so far have not had any issues with the car other than a new battery when the car was 4 years old. The car is serviced every year by Volvo.

The 1.5L is a Volvo VEA engine, similar to the 2.0L engine but with a shorter stroke. The transmission is an Aisin torque converter automatic transmission as used in the larger Volvo's. The gear changes are still very smooth but I will probably look at getting the transmission fluid changed when the car gets to 75/80,000 miles.

Hope this helps.

SWMBO has an my17 T2 Inscription auto. 4 1/2 years old now. No problems with it at all. Runs nicely and is pretty economic at around 35-40 mpg. The ride can be a bit fidgety on rougher roads but generally it is a quiet and smooth ride. Auto gearbox can be used as a clutchless manual if wanted. All in all a nice small car. The Momentum is the bottom range so make sure it has all they want re tech etc. I think it runs on 16" wheels from memory which will make the ride softer.

Yes they want a soft ride as they’re getting on.

What sort of price were they new? As this one is quite expensive but very low miles.

Basic list price for Mom Nav Plus was £21105. For Inscription £23105. R Design Nav Plus £23195. All plus £1485 for auto box.

The Mom Nav Plus has Sensus Sat Nav. Cruise control, rear park sensors and Sensus Connect on top of basic spec.

Some add ons include Winter pack at £575, Winter Plus Pack at £1K, intellisafe pro at £1.9K, xenium pack at £2K

So as you can see it was very easy to reach quite a high cost. If you check what factory fitted extras the car has I could look them up specifically.
