Floats

Hi all,

Not sure if someone can help me?

I have a Solex Cisac Z11 carb, fitted to a 240 2.3 saloon.
I have just had the carburettor off the car to Renee the gasket beneath it. When refitting noticed the float is badly twisted. Which i think is probably why it's running badly.

Does anybody know if or where I can get a replacement float?

Ian

These floats absorb fuel over the years and sink so well worth replacing it . That's a horrible carb and on the 240 the air inlet housing on top the carb restricts airflow at certain rpm and upsets the running . Volvo had a modified one a long time ago . I would find a Pierburg carb and manifold . The Pierburg looks similar to a stromberg but has it's own problems !

Sure it"s a really bad carb for a thirty year old 240 and as said the other types have their own issues and it"s no secret mine is having a hissy fit at the moment but i think it is understandable for its age..smiley face..hj.
