Are the cars from Japan undersealed at all?

Oh RT,

Why did you post that!!! reasonable MOT history as far as it goes, only saving grace is that it won't fit on the driveway with all my other stuff, better half already moans about my 940 estate😀

Cheers

I know, I felt faint when I saw the price! Then a bit sick when I thought about what SWMBO would do to my manly bits if I bought it - after (genuinely) promising that the Danish 940 would be my last purchase for at least 5 years...

On the other side, its only a level 1 Royal - so basically an Executive and easier to walk away from :D Still stupidly cheap though.

940VolvoMan - Yes, they are undersealed. I was surprised at how well my Japanese 850R was treated - I didn't really need to have it done as the underseal appeared to be the same as a UK spec model. Still worth giving it a bit of attention though IMHO. A bit different to my old Jap import Discovery V8 which had barely a misting of protection under it, but thats LandRover for you - cutting costs everywhere possible.

Rolling Thunder.

Thanks for that

When the time is right I wouldn't mind looking out for an imported 960/V90, manual of course,,,,

Just some further info for any prospective buyers - I was going to buy this car, and did the usual background checks, but I've decided that I love my Danish 940 too much and I won't be buying it afterall.

So I just wanted to say that the HPI check came back clean, it just has an import marker as you'd expect.

The car has a dent in the rear offside door, along with some paint damage on that side and on the rear bumper. And the MoT history has notes about the rear shocks showing misting - so the Nivomats will possibly need replacement soon. Not sure if they're available, but you may be able to fit a coilover conversion from ClassicSwede? Have to check with him as the LWB is going to be heavier that a normal S90. Finally, check the alignment of the doors if you view it - it may just be a poor photo, but the nearside doortops seem marginally misaligned in one pic? Higher res pics are available on the carandclassic website https://www.carandclassic.com/car/C1457888 ;) Best check it to be safe.

Good luck if you do buy it, it looks fantastic.

940 redblock the sensible choice.

The whiteblock is smooth but heard needs more TLC than a redblock. The Royal does look lovely but as you have said a parts nightmare if have a bump or rear door glass gets broken. The drivers seat has not been fed well over the years. The 940 is far easier to get used/new parts.

A S90 Royal with redblock turbo would of been my choice, probably not available.

A 780 Bertone would be nice.

James.
